ReemReem Bassous is a Lebanese artist currently residing in Hawaii. Her mixed media approach attempts to translate her experience under sectarian strife into a stabilized visual form. Drawing, painitng and burning onto paper and canvas formulate her explorations of the socio-political tensions that condition everyday life in Lebanon. Bassous interplays customary and contemporary Arabic images set against a seemingly unpredictable surface while the underlying grid asserts itself to achieve order amongst religious icons and blurred ecollections.

Reem received her BA fromt the Lebanese American University in Beirut, Lebanon and her MFA from the George Washington University in Whashington D.C. int he US. She has been a faculty member at the University of Hawai’i in the Painting and Drawing Department since 2007. Her work has been featured in international exhibitions including the Millais Gallery in Southampton and the Brunei Gallery in London, England; the RamsayOng Gallery in Kuala Lumpur, Malasia; as well as exhibitions nationally and regionally.

nourNour Abu Hayeh is a Palestinian visual artist and a graduate from the American University of Sharjah with a Bachelor of Science in Visual Communication Design.

Nour approaches art as a continuation of philosophy, an exercise of the aethetics and a natural instinctive process through which she could put together what words often fail to. The definining trait that is mirrored all throughout her work is that she strives to constantly blur the lines between formative concrete design and art open to interpretation.

Nour is one of the winners of the Creat-Inspire competiton 2013, featured in visual Arabia Yearbook 2013 and showcased artwork at CMYK photography exhibition, in addition to having participated in many photography platforms.
